Risk Management - the how

Risk management techniques help build resilience into your circle’s ways of working.

The start is a workshop (this can be facilitated by the Risk circle) to :

  • Identify your risks as events, causes and impacts,
  • Assess each risk's probability and level of impact,
  • Identify actions to reduce the probability and/or impact of each risk.
  • Create a "Plan B" should it occur.
  • Continue to take risks that have been properly assessed.
  • Capture in writing what you've learnt - this can be in a risk register or something else.

After the workshop its a very good idea to regularly (suggest once/month) review your circle's risks, to identify new risks that will have arisen since the workshop, to check that risks you know about haven't become more critical over the past month, and to change your Plan B's if you need to (perhaps because of a change in the circle).
