# Demands Just like XR, XR Youth also has 3 demands. The XR Youth demands are based off XR's however have **more emphasis on the role of youth**. Our demands are as follows: ## Tell the Truth The UK Government and all institutions, particularly those in education, must tell the truth by declaring a climate and ecological emergency. This doesn't just mean acknowledging the emergency but also proactively educating about the implications the climate crisis will have during the youth of today's lifetime ## Act Now Every part of government and society must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero by 2025.  ## Go Beyond Politics Every level of government must create and be led by the decisions of a Citizen's Assembly on climate and ecological justice. These conversations need to include and amplify the youth voice from all backgrounds.

This is to: _demand a just transition that prioritises the most vulnerable people and indigenous sovereignty_.  There were conversations happening within XRY UK about also adopting this demand however these were put on pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
