Joining the Hub and Finding your Course Schedule

You've arrived at this page because you have applied to join the Foundation Programme via the Volunteer Website and then clicked through from the email that you subsequently received entitled 'Invite to XRs Foundation Programme'.

If you haven't done so already, you need to join the XRUK Hub to access your Course Schedule and this page is designed expressly to help you do that. The Hub is our amazing tool which connects lots of the programs (e.g. Mattermost and UK Cloud) that rebels use to organise online; and it runs on servers in Switzerland which use green electricity!

If you are concerned about using a new application – please don’t panic! The Foundation Programme team are here to help. You can get personal help by:

How do I join the Hub?

To sign up to the Hub:

  1. Ask the group admin of your XR group to send you an email invite to the Hub.
  2. Open the invite and click on the link (you may need to check your spam folder). This will open a webpage containing a form that looks like this: https://rebeltoolkit.extinctionrebellion.uk/uploads/images/gallery/2023-04/image-1681204393509.png
  3. Fill in the form with your name (this is visible to other users, so you can use a nickname if you like) and password and then click Confirm.

Join the Hub

Once you’ve watched the video or read the instructions above and are confident about what to do, go back to the email we sent you entitled 'Invite to XR's Foundation Programme' since this is the only place where you can find your personal invite link that allows you to join the Hub and find your personal Course Schedule.

Once you've joined the Hub, you can quickly access your personal Hub Services page by using the green link below.

On your Hub Services page, log in (top right) then click on GROUPS in the green banner (top left).

Then in the top grey banner, click on MY FORMS

Click on the Form - Course Schedule - Foundation Programme and you're all ready to starting learning about XR!

Once you're on the Hub and then Mattermost (XR's dedicated chat platform), use the Students - Foundation Programme private chat channel in Mattermost to say "Hi" to your fellow students and the Foundation Programme coordinators - and you can also ask for support there. Click this link to go to that channel. That link will only work once you've created your accounts on the Hub and Mattermost, so follow the steps above to get set up!
